SARRC's silence over human rights is perturbing - TNA

(August 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Tamil National Alliance has expressed that the SARRC Summit's silence over human rights violations is rather disturbing.

TNA Senior Parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah told that the SARRC summit did not address its mind to the human rights situation in the region, while articulating vehemently on the fight against terrorism. This was rather shocking.

A resolution was passed to defeat terrorism in the region. The struggle of the Tamil people is not terrorism. The government of Sri Lanka is trying to top and subdue the Tamil struggle under the guise of defeating terrorism with the support of the SARRC countries, he said.
