All aerial bombings must stop immediately

(November 09, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Bombings from the air and terrorizing and killing civilians is no way to solve the ethnic problems in Sri Lanka. And along with them livestock perish and key infrastructures are destroyed as well. Even farms are damaged. These bombings have been the key feature for far too many years.

The refugee nightmare has been there now since 1956 and that is over half a century. Is Sri Lanka so bankrupt for good leadership?

Economically the cost has been monstrous and disastrous for the country. Sri Lanka is only the fourth country in the world to attack, maim and kill its own citizens. And this is supposed to be a Buddhist country and among those who have caused racial this nightmare and carnage, Buddhist monks are in the forefront.

Is it so difficult for any Colombo government to accept that all citizens have equal rights? If so why? Let the government have the guts to say openly why it is dificult. Surely the Sinhalese mass are not against the minorities. The problem is certainly with a tiny minority of racists who have held the country to ransom for too long a time.

If this ethnic problem has remained a terrible sore on the country, it only means the majority community has forfeited its obligation to help in the governance of the country.

What is so pathetic is that the government has not offered the right solution. Its only answer is to rain bombs on the civilans and continute what appears to be a determined genocide against the Tamils. If the government had offered a solution, terrorism would never have stepped foot in Sri Lanka.
