Tamils Tiger Supporters Fasting in Relays in Toronto

(January 26, Toronto, Sri Lanka Guardian) The members of the Sri Lanka United National Association (SLUNA) based in Toronto are intrigued by the gimmicks of the sympathizers in the Greater Toronto Area on behalf of the most ruthless terrorists in world, the Tamil Tigers. This is a last ditch attempt to save them from extinction.

The ulterior motive of the ‘Fast –in- Relays’ is to draw the attention of the Canadian Government for an intervention in bringing about a Ceasefire.

This jocular non- life threatening Relay Fast with no semblance of a desperate a “Fast unto Death” is a comical display by the alleged ringmasters of Tamil Tigers. The alleged LTTE fronts are using the humanitarian cause as a smoke screen for the purpose of fund raising.

The Sri Lankan Armed forces now at the gates of their last bastion Mullativu in the east coast and in chasing out LTTE from their de facto capital and de facto Eelam, have proved with least collateral damage, the keenness in safe guarding the fellow citizens, while fighting the deadliest terrorist organization.

The security forces have created a No Fire Zone and safe passages for civilians to move to safety. It is believed that LTTE is holding thousands innocent men, women and children as a human shield to protect the psychopathic leader, Vellupillai Prabakaran.

United Nations and the UNICEF have repeatedly asked Tamil Tigers to release the innocent civilians and also allow UN staff to move into these areas to render urgently needed humanitarian aid but LTTE ignored these requests. According to eye witnesses who managed to escape the LTTE torture , had revealed that the tigers shoot the fleeing civilians to death.

We at SLUNA unequivocally condemn this ploy of Fasting in Relays and urge the Government of Canada, the Canadian public and the Sri Lanka community to be vigilant about the Tamil Tiger tactics.
