(May 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) European foreign ministers are likely to call on the Government of Sri Lanka to hold back from a ‘final assault’ against the Tigers if a draft they have prepared is accepted at their meeting on Monday. This once again emphasizes how foolish if not stupid some of these calls on Sri Lanka are from certain governments of the west. What are they really up to?
It is like saying the west can have sauce for the goose but the east must be satisfied with vinegar. More and more the statements that come from the west suggest mischief or some kind of a conspiracy against countries like Sri Lanka to keep them in a state of want and poverty. May be they want us just to be consumers especially arms.
There is absolutely no alternative to rooting out the Tigers totally in Sri Lanka and we cannot oblige the countries in the west who cannot understand our problems. At best they are patronizing but almost always they are engaged in exploiting us either through unbalanced trade or total dependency on them. They are also engaged in promoting negative cultural imperialism.
We Sri Lankans want to solve our problems the way we think is best. Which army in the world would have given saving the thousands held hostage as primary, the way the Sri Lankan Armed Forces have done. The ceasefire did not help because the Tigers used that period to force the civilians to build bunkers. How can any one be so dumb not to understand such a simple thing?
Is it so difficult to understand that the Tigers had to be kept at bay to enable the civilians to escape? And that is what really happened.
Why should not the Tigers be destroyed totally? They are not a political force not even a liberation force. It is a terror force.
The European Union of foreign ministers which include those of Great Britain, France and Sweden who are known as hostile to Sri Lanka can pass any resolution and then they can keep the documentation for museum purposes in the years to come.
It is better they shut up if they cannot understand the ground situation in Sri Lanka and Tiger terrorism. Compared to the Tigers in Sri Lanka, terrorists they know in the west are shooting squirrels.

You might consider behaving independend for a start, that means you don't need the west financially, you dig?
For as far as I am concerned, the British left you a quite prosperous country called Ceylon in 1948.
The third world country called Sri Lanka you have to thank your Singalese ruling elite and the Sri Lankan working class which voted for them, for.
Human life has some ETHICAL Standards, which is not found in Sri Lanka but in the West. In 1983 you killed Tamils using RIOTS as your Arms and, now you are using Actual Ammunitions to kill them.
Marianne has to appreciate that the west is financially broke and depends on China's good grace. The west is also morally broke, with the fraudulent MPs of west minister, lies about WMD, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - countries which have nothing to do with the west, and exploitation of Nigeria and the middle east for oil while these countries, by using puppet regimes, remain very poor.
Well, we are not as broke as SL, for SL is bankrupt, another thing you have not been told by your government yet.
Further more, I am not British but even if I were, I cannot see why the UK should be financially depending on China.
China is only financially helping countries if that's in their own advantage, like most countries do.
So in another 10 or 20 years you will be able to tell me who you liked better, the English or the Chinese.
That's why I am advising you to stand on your own feet, be financially independend only than you can decide for yourself and have a big mouth.
And until than you will have to jump when they tell you to jump.
