Now Tamilnet seeks to propagate terror in University and High School campuses

By Mohan Gunaratnam and Jacinta Cruz

(May 19, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The vicious LTTE US False News Constructor the Tamilnet in a never will die of mischievous monkey business and fraudulent high jinks having done immense damage to the minds of Tamil Diaspora young people in North American Universities and High School children has begun to focus its evil intentions on the undergraduates of the University of Jaffna. It seems to seek a new brand of terrorists just like the Tigers did with tuition centre children in the 1970s.

Whoever is managing and supporting this monstrous evil of communication have not the interests of the Tamil community but only to salvage or create a new breed of Tigers and ensure that the global Tiger Underworld is protected. They certainly must be receiving their orders from the internationally wanted evader of justice, Selvarajah Pathmanathan who during the last few days was desperately trying to save Prabhakaran and his immediate team of terrorists even making secret telephone calls from the privacy of lavatories.

We have information that Prabhakaran was made to believe that a Marcos Family and Cronies type rescue operation would be put into effect to save him, his son and his close associates by the US. It may have happened if George Bush was in the White House and much as what England and France may have wanted, they would not have dared such an operation without the US heading such a mission.

Another fall out from the riddance of the LTTE is how the West particularly the United Kingdom and France and some countries of the European Union got exposed of their hypocrisy in relation to their former colonies that they bled to poverty during their overlordship.

It was thoroughly unbecoming of the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to threaten Sri Lanka of terrible consequences if it did not follow their suggestions, observations and even demands. Britain must be very careful in taking such a posture. The country has been a sanctuary to discredited leaders of its former colonies, and there were many of them and it also offered refuge to Anton and Adele Balasingam.

Furthermore, if the Bandaranaike Assassination case had been sufficiently inquired into about external involvements, the reasons for the three visits the first accused in the case, Buddharakkita Thero made to Britain successively before the assassination may have brought to surface certain connections rooted in Britain. There were good reasons for Britain to dislike Solomon Bandaranaike whose nationalization policy affected British interests are great deal.

Britain’s foreign minister David Millibank with his French counterpart were doing in effect the dance of the spirits in support of terrorism in Sri Lanka and chanted about civilian massacre and all that while Britain itself was engaged in tandem with the US in bombing civilian villages indiscriminately. What the US and Britain are unable to do with Osama bin Laden, President Rajapaksa has with a highly disciplined Armed Forces done with Prabhakaran and his entire company of ruthless terror.

If the LTTE cadre accounted 15,000 fighters and an auxiliary force of another 10,000, it will be easy to understand what little collateral damage the civilians suffered except for the appalling trauma of displacement under terrible circumstances and being shot at the back by the Tigers when they tried to escape from their grip. There were the inevitable civilian deaths and a great deal of injuries and but for the Armed Forces and how they gave top priority to the trapped human shield civilians and the way the Army Medicos handled the situation, many civilians would have perished.

What the LTTE did to the civilians were holding them as human shield, seizing them and even their children to take up arms, appropriating whatever little they had as food and denying even supplies from the Red Cross. Even worse, they were not only exposed to the elements but were shot at when they tried to escape. How come people like Prime Minister Gordon Brown was not sensitive to this terrible predicament of the civilians?

There were others too including Navaneetham Pillai of Human Rights Watch who only went by Tamilnet information to make her observations, Brad Adams and a few others and the intentional false reportage practiced by Channel 4, CNN and BBC. In circumstances of such massive proportions, it is always a risk to allow such people and organizations to present their views to the world. As they did, they only served the interests of the Tigers.

Was it so difficult for them to express appreciation of how the Armed Forces performed their tasks? Where was the human catastrophe they shouted hoarse about during the last two days and Tiger international villain Pathmanathan had many ears in agreement to his request? It was pathetic to have him announce that the LTTE had silenced their guns when even at that time, the Tigers were no more.

The Armed Forces were able to facilitate the civilian escape which has assumed the characteristic of a legend only by keeping the LTTE at bay with gunfire. The time they found that difficult was when there were two pauses, rather ceasefire during which time the LTTE seized the opportunity to force the civilians to dig trenches and bunkers, seize children and give them instant training to send them to the frontlines.

All those countries, their leaders and international organizations that demanded ceasefire and went to town with false information were indeed giving the worst possible advice or even threats in handling this campaign against the LTTE. How the Armed Forces helped the escape of over 50,000 civilians during the last two days was an even greater miracle than how they freed over a 120,000 earlier.

The claim there were dead bodies strewn over during the last two days should never have been used against the Armed Forces. They were those of the LTTE fighting machine. Some one has to account for 25,000 LTTE fighters and why was this ignored by these foreign elements who showed partiality to the terrorists?

On the morning the Tamils in particular and Sri Lankans in general were relieved of the Tiger terror, the Tamilnet has the brazen audacity to state as follows:

[TamilNet, Monday, 18 May 2009, 18:19 GMT]: Jaffna University Student Union (JUSU) said that it is suspending all educational activities for a week from Tuesday as the students are undergoing severe mental stress and grief on account of the carnage of innocent Tamil civilians in Vanni, in a statement to the media Tuesday. Outstation students are unable to know the fate of their parents, relatives and others who had been caught in the war in Vanni and this affects them so badly that they are unable to follow lectures, JUSU said.

The JUSU that was dominated by the Tiger maverick and oddity Kuthirai (Horse) Gajendran, according to the Tamilnet “has requested the University administration to postpone the examinations that were to be held this week, the statement said.”

“The date of recommencement of educational activities will be notified later, it said JUSU continues to approach all authorities concerned to take into consideration of the situation of outstations students affected by the humanitarian disaster in Vanni, JUSU representatives said.”

Typical of Tamilnet, no names were mentioned and it is obvious in order to get over the total eradication of the Tigers in Sri Lanka, Tamilnet will continue to resort to such mischief and try to keep young Tamils tuned up to violence of the extreme nature. As a matter of fact US authorities who are so sensitive to terrorism should take the Tamilnet to task because it is propagating terrorism that could further endanger the precincts of university and High School campuses in the United States and Canada.

The Tiger terror has been wiped out and Sri Lanka needs help and support to pick up the pieces of this terrible experience, bond the nation together and embark on the path of communal harmony and progress. The people are ready and there is so much goodwill among the Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Malays and others and organizations like the Tamilnet and Tamilnadu’s threadbare political parties are advised to keep out.

Countries like Britain and France had better understand that Sri Lanka is not a colony of any power. Norway should mind its own business. Sri Lanka has shown the world that it has the right answer to sort out terrorism.

Great article! As mentioned Tamilnet should be taken out for propagating false information and misleading the entire tamil diaspora. Sri Lanka is one nation to be shared with whoever lives in it. There are no space for a divided Sri Lanka. Our hats off to the brave troops who stood against this monstrous regime and to the ones that laid their lives for their mother country.
