(October 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The latest photograph of Deputy Leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (who is also a non-cabinet Minister) Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan well known as Karuna Amman with his official partner in Colombo is widely circulating in the IT network within Tamil circle with an insinuating comment ‘Kohomada Karuna Ayyaaaa…. (In Sinhala) How are you Karuna brother’According to a Defense Ministry source, Karuna Amman has just returned from Germany following some attempts being made by him to reconcile with his estranged wife in the United Kingdom. The source said that he could not make any headway with his wife.
When asked whether he traveled to Germany in his own passport the source refused divulge any information but said ‘passe kiyanang’ (tell you later).
When Sri Lanka Guardian asked a former pro-LTTE contact of Karuna in Bangkok about the photograph, he laughed and said, ‘what a tragedy. A man who took arms to fight for justice for Tamils is now enjoying the goodies dished out by the government’. He further said, ‘those who would not take the goodies are facing hell in the prisons’ and he asked the Sri Lanka Guardian to convey to Karuna to ‘enjoy the most at the expense of the suffering Tamils to accomplish his mission’.-Sri Lanka Guardian
