Gen. Fenseka’s security drastically reduced- UNP

(November 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Security provided to General Sarath Fonseka has been drastically reduced, as much as 95 per cent, says Tissa Attanayake, General Secretary of the United National Party.Since Saturday, 95 per cent of his security had been removed while Karuna Amman has about 200 security men and Pilleyan has over 100 men, said Attanayake, addressing a function to distribute equipment to a temple and societies in Kundasale.

“The most serious issue is that since yesterday, 96 per cent of his security has been removed, ever since his letter of resignation was accepted.

“He was provided with heavy security. This is because an organisation such as the LTTE has reached their targets in 10, 15 or even 20 years.

“LTTE terrorism has not ended in the manner as claimed by the government. That is the government's version.

“Karuna Amman has been given given more than 200 security men and on the other hand, Pilleyan has been given a security contingent of over 200 men.
“This is unfair treatment,” Attanayake said.

Attanayake in his famous callous manner making these accusations on the government as if he is a defender of armed forces. They are the very people who wanted to distribute the dividend of LTTE destruction should be distributed to the people all these days. Karuna and Piliyan are members of the political apparatus, and Fonseka is now only a retired general. They both are not the same. Fonseka boasting about defeating the terrorists and liberating Sri Lanka from LTTE clutches should be careful when he talking about his personal security. His security should be not greater than other Army Commanders who has stepped down before. Then if Fonseka is interested in politicking, he should watch his own step. You cannot be a politician and also claim additional security because you have been a former commander is unreasonable.
Attanayake who uttered that the war can be conducted by any fool lingers in our mind. Perhaps he had inside knowledge about Fonseka for making that statement. Yes, any fool can conduct the war if you have a good commander-in-chief. Fonseka is badly misled, and he should fade away to oblivion without making an ass of himself. The so called common candidate is only an illusion which is only a part of a bigger conspiracy. The west who is unhappy with Rajapaksa will want to create this disharmony in Sri Lanka to retard its progress for petty personality differences.
Fonseka is gradually becoming the biggest joker of all joining the clowns of Ranil, SB, Mangala, Ravi, RangeBandara, Mano and many others who were trying to disrupt the war all the way. When the government was successful the very same unpatriotic politicians started singing a different song praising the forces detaching the government from this heroic task. I wish the people will understand better the freedoms they are enjoying at present and elect patriotic people to the next parliament.

kahagalle, you are an idiot!!
read the article carefully before making comments. either say it was a lie or if the security has been slashed then make a comment whether it was fair or unfiar, or something relevant to it. you have not even touched the issue.Being dumb is another thing but showing the dumbness in a public forum is like shiting in your own pants.

Regarding the issue, yeah it was pathetic and low, i am not suprised though, because the head of the government is a tyrant, who's days are numbered. Bye bye Maharaja in couple of months to kunubakki.
