KP tortured

By Our Defence Investigator

(November 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) According to a reliable Defence Ministry source LTTE’s former International head Selvarasa Pathmanathan, well known as KP is said to have undergone severe torturing in the hands of the intelligence operatives to extract information from him.

The source said KP is held in the Panagoda army camp in the outskirts of Colombo.

Uncooperative KP was severely tortured by the Sri Lanka Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) for maintaining silence. At one point, KP has fainted and breathless and the army paramedics had to be called in to revive him.

The source in the Defence Ministry reflected annoyance that TID officials are exerting excessive violence on KP. Since the medical treatment, KP is said to be facing subtle touring like slapping, arm twisting, ear pulling and finger knuckling in the process of their investigations.

The Defence Ministry source further confirmed that Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse’s publicised meeting with KP only lasted for few minutes, as KP was maintaining determined silence in the meeting. Gotabaya had left the place after making abusive comment in Sinhala language.

It is suspected Sri Lanka is preventing access to Indian Intelligence sleuths to interview KP, fearing that he will take the opportunity to reveal the treatment meted out to him by the TID men. According to news reports, Indian officials are keen to interview KP to find out further about the assassination of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by the LTTE. Instead, Sri Lanka has gone out of the way to get the Pakistani intelligence to implicate him in the Karachi terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.

KP was abducted at the Tune Hotel in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in early July 2009 by the Malaysian intelligence on a tip off and handed over to the TID in Colombo.

According to sources close to KP, he is suffering from acute diabetic condition and heart disorder. He is not provided legal assistance or access to the relevant UN agencies and the government is said to be heavily relying on its anti-terrorism law to investigate and hold him without due process.

Also there are drugs which can make a man sing like cannary. Any way better for K.P. to suffer in any way, as the alternative is the is the whole world to suffer of terorism ,because of guys like him. This evil to to be clensed from earth and minds of men forever.Thank you Editor ,sir.

The writer is biased on LTTE propaganda. KP or LTTE operatives never gave any opportunity to their victims. When LTTE decides to get rid of anybody there were no inquiry, no UN, no legal representation. More than 50,000 civilian killed by LTTE, not a single was given a chance to explain his position.

A man who never believed in such freedoms what kind of rights the writer is talking about. The reliable sources to write this piece of information are the standard journalistic cover up. All the information the writer is talking about never had happened, but his imagination to plant dissentions on Sri Lankans.

I guess its ok to torture a person like KP(the terrorist) ,because nobody talks about the sufferings the sri Lankans had because of this terrorist. Even US use torture to interrogate small scale terrorist, but this donkey is a grand scale terrorist. The information this terrorist has need to be extracted in anyway

Information as much as possible should extracted by 'any means possible' to prevent future terrorist attacks. When one joins a terrorist syndicate, take an oath, that includes to maim children, mothers with babies in arms and in general civilians, he/she should not expect to be treated in a humane way. I’m sure, KP is no baby, he would have known that.

torture is however not legal, and would not justify by saying that others practice it too. The other point is, are these information extracted under torture reliable and true? and shall we proceed with these information on criminalizing others? remember the contradicting statements of the doctors under LTTE and GoSL!
