In this week some media operateing from colombo reported,General Secretary, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Maithiripala Sirisena and the General Secretary of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Tilvin Silva hold special talks on issues related to the current political situation in Sri Lanka and the political actions to be taken in the future. The talks had taken place only between the general secretaries of the two political parties, the sources added.It is also said that Basil Rajapakse advisor to President also hold several talks with the JVP parliamentarian, Anurakumara Disanayake prior to the special talks mentioned above.

Replying, JVP Parliament Member Anura Kumara Dissanayaka stated, discussions were not held among the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and JVP. He was much disappointed towards the newspaper items published at a time a political atmosphere is prevailing amidst much discord.He said, while publishing such news items, the sole responsibility of medias, should not be disregarded by any media was mentioned by him. He said, the Secretary of Sri Lanka Freedom Party did not have any discussion with JVP at any instances.Anura Kumara Dissanayake mentioned, to protect, the media formalities, newspapers like “Lakbima” should take necessary action.
