How Opposition Can Become Popular and end it’s Isolation

EDITORIAL

(August 20, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) This is very simple. The most painful experience that Sri Lankan people have is its police. Fight against this and PROMISE police reforms as your foremost priority.

If opposition does that they will be popular in not time and soon they will be on their way to power.

If opposition do not do that, even opposition MPS will get beaten up as it already happened in Galle. People will not come to their rescue as they have not come to peoples’ rescue, when people are beaten up, as it happens every day.

Lame duck opposition that cannot fight back police harassment is not worthy of peoples respect. That is what the opposition is today. They are not capable of wining peoples respect.

Government allows the police to act brutally. Purpose is to intimidate people and to keep them quiet. To complain about deprivations has become an offence now. If you complain the police will beat you up. The unemployed, the students deprived of their right to get a proper education, women working as domestic helpers and are treated inhumanely, poor everywhere, parents whose children do not get proper medical care and all others who have so many other complaints are told to keep quiet. Suffer in silence is the motto now.

Meanwhile the TV controlled by the government keeps up the PARADISE FELLING. All this well and government is doing fine is their song.

To do all that the government need the police to behave as brutes.

The opposition just watch as people are beaten up. They are silent supporters of the government. Rather funny way to remain opposition.

LET THE OPPOSITION LEAD THE FIGHT AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY,TORTURE,EXTRA_JUDICIAL KILLINGS,HARASSMENT AND HUMILIATIONS OF THE PEOPLE.

That’s way for genuine popularity and the way to come to power soon.
