S.M.Ranjith wins battle over Berty Premalal

Ranjith and Mahipala Herath took oaths as the Chief Ministers of the North
Central Province and the Sabaragamuwa Province before President Mahinda
Rajapaksa, today.
Former Minister S.M.Chandrasena's brother S.M.Ranjith and
Mahipala Herath are to be sworn in as chief ministers of the North Central
province and Sabaragamuwa provinces respectively today morning.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday met with all newly
elected members of the two provincial councils and told them they should turn
the victory towards working for the benefit of the voters.
Former NCP chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake who was
demanding that he should be reappointed to the post was also present at the
Sunday's meeting.
Timesonline learns that both, Dissanayke and Ranjith have
been advised not to make any more controversial statements over the Chief
Ministers post.
