These very practices which have been imbued in us through our multicultural and multiethnic society have been recognized the world over, however recent events could lead some to believe that we are slipping away from these fundamental values.
We received word of an unfortunate incident that transpired in Trincomalee today (April 16) where people did not step forward to help a mortally wounded youngster.
The incident that transpired began when a 20-year-old youth and a 21-year-old took a motorbike ride in the Trincomalee town. They were inadvertently linked to each other through a relationship with a girl. The 20-year-old was the ex-boyfriend of the said girl.
After riding into Trincomalee and stopping in a by lane the 20-year-old slipped out a blade and slit the throat of the 21-year-old.

He was later admitted to the Trincomalee General Hospital, but according to the Police he had already passed away by the time he was admitted.
