Opposition leader inspects damaged SL Embassy in Norway

(May 16, Oslo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe who is currently on an official tour paid a visit to the SL Embassy in Norway which recently came under attack of LTTE supporters. Mr. Wickremesinghe exchanged views with SL High Commissioner in Norway , Mr. Rodney Perera and other officials.

Mr. Wickremesinghe who was enlightened on the extent of the damage and how it was caused , inquired about the investigation instituted by the Norway Govt. and the security measures which have now been introduced.

Opposition leader was apprised of the trying conditions under which the staff of the SL Embassy were working. Specially , it is a duty of every SL citizen to encourage and inspire these officials who are fearlessly facing the protests and demonstrations staged there, in order to protect the image of SL , said Mr. Wickremesinghe

It is significant to note that Mr. Wickremesinghe is the first Leader who visited the SL Embassy in Norway after its recent attack , met the SL officials and made an inspection with a view to assessing and inquiring into the problems faced at the Embassy.
