(August 23, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The JVP has finalized lists of candidates for the Southern PC election. The lists were prepared by a committee headed by the Member of the Political Bureau of the JVP Member of Parliament Chandrasena Wijesinghe. Other members of the committee were Information Secretary Vijithe Herath and JVP Parliamentarian for Matara District Jinadasa Kithulegoda.
Sisira Kumara, former leader of the group of JVP Members in Southern PC has been named the chief ministerial candidate of the JVP as well as the head of the Matara District group. Former PC Member Nalin Hewage is the leader of the group for Galle District while the Hambantota District list is headed by former PC Member Sisira Kumara Wahalathanthri. -Sri Lanka Guardian
