Libya reviews cooperation with Italy, Sri Lanka

(October 19, Tripoli, Sri Lanka Guardian) Libyan officials Sunday in Tripoli met with their counterparts from Italy and Sri Lanka in a bid to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of economy, trade and investment.

The Secretary of the Libyan General People's Committee for Industry, Economy and Trade, met with Italian Vice- Minister of Promotion and Economic Development, Adolfo Orso, who is currently in Libya at the head of a delegation of his department.

The two discussed the participation of Italian companies in ongoing development projects in Libya and in preparing industrial zones and necessary investments to create projects.

The Italian delegation included several businessmen, managers of Italian companies involved in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery, industry, fishery and the financial and banking sector.

Also, the Secretary of the Libyan General People's Committee for Services (basic infrastructure), Maatoug Mohamed Maatoug, met with Sri Lankan Minister of Agricultural Development, Maithripala Sirisena, and his deleg ation.

The Sri Lankan Minister's visit to Libya is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and the sharing of experiences between the two countries in key areas.
