Growing Emergence of an Alternative Tamil Leadership to Prbhakaran Regime “the LTTE”

There is no doubt that with the collapse of the Cease-Fire Agreement signed between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the the Government of Sri Lanka that has led to a growing re-emergence of an alternative Tamil leadership for the Sri Lankan Tamil speaking Diaspora as opposed to Prabhakaran and his dictatorial regime.

The emergence of growing numbers of Sri Lankan Tamils supporting anti-LTTE Tamil leaders is due to the growing resentment amongst the Sri Lankan Tamil community who are realising that the LTTE will not bring peace to their homeland and Prabhakaran will never deliver what he had promised to the EELAVAR's and that is "Tamil Eelam".

So what are the alternatives, well that’s simple. A growing number of Sri Lankan Tamils who are moderate and forward-thinking are increasingly supporting anti-LTTE Tamil leaders such as Douglas Devananda of the EPDP, Anandasangaree of TULF, Siddarthan of PLOTE, Karuna Amman of TMVP and the new younger generation of emerging Tamil leaders such as Nesan Shankar Raji of EROS.

What seems to me is that we are beginning to see the end of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam's (LTTE) control over the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora. This makes perfect sense because the LTTE have always insisted on being the so called "sole representatives of the Tamil speaking people" when in actual fact they have always been the "sole oppressors, killers and intimidators of the Sri Lankan Tamil speaking people". One can compare Prabhakaran to "HITLER". In the past the LTTE systematically killed off all their political opponents. The ones that survived were to the likes of Douglas Devananda of the EPDP, Shankar Raji of EROS and so on… Others such as Suresh Premachandran of the EPRLF(S) and Selvam Adaikalanathan of TELO were too scared of losing their lives at the orders of Prabhakaran that they hopped on board and joined him.

The Sri Lankan Diaspora seem frustrated with the continued antics of Prabhakaran for they know he has cheated them and is now one step short from being labelled a "National Traitor of EELAVAR's". The LTTE who make $300 million dollars a year have oppressed their own people and starved them to death for their own selfish survival. These are the facts lurking the minds of the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora. One only hopes that Prabhakaran is finished off sooner rather than later then the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora can move on and put this dreadful past behinst them. If the Tamil community gets what they deserve through the APRC then the LTTE will be alienated by the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora and this will be the beginning of the end of the LTTE's life-span and the emergence of a new united Tamil leadership to take over.
