LTTE gives publicity for its new ITTN

(December, 01, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Leaflets promoting the new International Tamil Television Network (ITTN) were distributed at the Excel Centre when LTTE’s Hero’s Day events were held by the British Tamil Forum (BTF). The Hero’s Day events took place on November 27, 2007.

LTTE’s former Tamil Television Network (TTN) which had its operational head quarters in Paris was closed down by the French authorities for its involvement with the EU proscribed Tamil Tigers. The assets of TTN were moved to Switzerland before the official closure and with the equipment taken, a TTN recording studio is being established by the LTTE in Geneva.

Following the closure of TTN, its operatives started the ‘Tharisanam TV’ from Australia with the help of a minority Tamil party Paatali Makkal Kadchi in Tamil Nadu in India. This station branched out its activities to the UK and the former manager of TTN Sockalingam Karunalingam is functioning as its operational head in London.

The official website of the Department of Trade website Companies House reveal a private company by the name of International Tamil Television Network Ltd has been formed on July 11, 2007 under company registration number 06309179. The company’s registered address is 184 Broadlands Avenue, Enfield, Middlesex EN3 5AF which is closer to the LTTE’s Tharisanam offices in London.
