Flows of Friendship

Along paths I walked
All through my life
Deftly I would spear
Into the Good Earth
For a sprout of stream
A task so delightful
And indeed refreshing
To mind, soul and spirit.
In time they all became
Little streams and brooks
In gravitational flows
Laden with nutrients
Enriching their banks
Besides woods and farms
And a great many of them
In confluence, converged.

My heart warmed up
Reflecting nature’s gifts
To a world of dear friends
Amidst cultures so diverse
And traditions all varied
Yet united as one family.

Wherever we may go
A sacred mission we have
To share our rich culture.
Equally, revere and value
That which is sacrosanct
To all nations and people.

The peace that we seek
Flows when we honour
Respect and admire
The heritage of others
The cultures so diverse
The world’s rich bounty.

And on our life’s path
We must never forsake
To cause streams to flow
And generate the rivers
Of feelings and friendship
For peace and goodwill.
