Love: Mystery or life?

- Everyone talks of love. It is the force around which everything circulates. History is witness to many wars – fought in the name of love. What about now? How much do we respect this four-letter word or the people connected to it in our lives?

(April 05, Bangalore, Sri Lanka Guardian) Love, this four-letter small word has so much power that it can change your whole life and your ideology.

What is love?

This question has been asked billion times by millions of people around the world. Different people have different answers; but everyone have the same ideology.

Some say love is like war, easy to begin but very hard to end. Someone else say that love is like a flower smiling. For some again it is worship. Some people say it’s a gift of god, which only the lucky ones get.

Most of the movies around the world are also based on love. Besides maximum number of literature are written about love as well.

Actually every one is talking about the same love but no one really knows it.

According to my ideology, love is life; nothing more than it and nothing less than it. We also know its importance in life.

I have listened so many stories on love: ‘Laila-Majnu’, ‘Soni-Mahiwal’, ‘Romeo-Juliet’, ‘Srifrad’, ‘Heer-Ranjha’, ‘Shashi-Punnu’ etc. These characters made a dull life for themselves. They got pain from love and they gave pain in return. They all were unsuccessful lovers who only invited death for their beloved one. It is because they only believed in getting love and not giving. Then how can they become icons of love?

I know only one icon of love, who truly loved and whose love live forever. That is Radhe-Krishna.

They didn’t create death for each other nor did they give pain. They only gave love and spread happiness in each – other’s life. It was possible because they believed that love is life and not death or pain.

They didn’t think what they would get back individually, though sharing love; they only thought about giving and making the other person’s life cheerful.

There is no doubt about their love for each other.

Today the meaning of love has changed. People today do not believe in everlasting love; it is only a temporary state of life.

In today’s world love means dating, going out, sharing, enjoying, gifting, etc and we forget the actual blessings of love.

You can only realise the strength of love only when you experience it yourself.
