LTTE betting on Ken’s victory

(April 30, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The LTTE frontline activists are putting all their energy into campaigning for present Mayor Ken Livingstone to be elected as Mayor again. The campaign spearheaded by Councillor Daya Idaikadar who is the brother in law of LTTE’s legal representative Visvanathan Rudrakumar held a special campaign meeting in Harrow and pooja service at Shree Kanagathurgai Amman temple in Ealing.

‘Arohara’ (Hallelujah) Cllr Daya Idaikadar appealing for votes in the LTTE web media.

A special pooja ceremony was held at the Shree Kanaga Durgai Amman temple attended by Ken Livingstone and the controversial pro LTTE Virendra Sharma MP.

According to sources associated with Cllr Daya Idaikadar, his campaign is aimed to influence Ken Livingstone to put pressure on the Metropolitan Police to ignore the LTTE activities in London if he is elected for the third time as GLC Mayor. The temple event and the campaign meeting in Harrow were restricted to specially invited persons. Cllr Paul Sathiyanesan of Newham Council was specially invited for the temple pooja events.

The meetings received much publicity in the LTTE’s Tharisanam TV run by Sockalingam Karunalingam alias Kannan.
