C.M Pilliyan hailed in Eastern Sri Lanka

(July 12, Trincomalee, Sri Lanka Guardian) Contrary to several media reports, C.M Pilliyan is being hailed by both Sinhalese and Muslim communities in the East, according to the latest tour done by Sri lanka Guardian reporters.

“Pilliyan had understood the importance of spreading ethnic harmony between Sinhalese and Tamils in particular, he is making some historical steps,” according to a popular Buddhist monk in Trincomalee.

“C.M needs to coordinate with people, he had done wonders with roads in Batticaloa town and I believe that he will continue to develop East – after all, he is a man from the East,” according to a Tamil businessman in Trincomalee.

“We believe that the times are changing for the East,” he added. Furthermore, several Muslims who spoke to Sri lanka Guardian also expressed their positive attitude towards C.M’s leadership.
