LTTE terror in Batticaloa

(July 12, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka Guardian) According to reliable sources, several LTTE cadres had infiltrated into Batticaloa to disrupt the fresh government efforts to rebuild East. Several intelligence cadres together with pistol gang members of LTTE are spearheading these efforts, according to sources from East.

“ The LTTE is now bankrupt, the only option for them is to disrupt the East and destroy our lives,” according to a school teacher from Batticaloa who spoke to Sri Lanka Guardian.

“The government must try to connect development work with people’s needs, the TMVP lead councils are doing an excellent jobs, but a lot needs to be done,” she added. - Sri Lanka Guardian
