Mano Vikara: Part I

"It is very difficult to identify such dangerous Terrorists who plant bombs in buses and trains. You must know better as you could not recognize the LTTE bomb expert you employed as a volunteer worker in your office! (At least that is your explanation, who knows that you knew Nadaraja as a LTTE terrorist from the beginning?)."

(July 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The security forcers have conducted a search operation in Modara yesterday (2nd of July 2008). Around ten thousand of people were lined up and videoed. Some civilians condemn this “harassment” of Tamils by the Police and Army.

Self proclaimed champion of Tamil rights in Sri Lanka, Western People’s Front Leader Mano Ganeshan was up in arms again. Mano told that “Tamils had been once again been stripped off their rights as they were lined up like criminals and videoed on the pretext of a search operation”.

Mano said that he had warned the Tamils in the north and east against coming to Colombo, as they would be subjected to unlawful arrests and harassment by the security forces, as done in the past. (Very fact that Tamils were there to search indicates that his “subjects” never listened to Mano at the first place. They chose to come to Colombo anyways. Perhaps Mano’s “subjects” are feeling safer in Colombo than in Vanni!!!).

“Yesterday morning, even the children were not spared. Is this what you call democracy? This is absurd and must be stopped immediately. It is sad that the Government is blind to these issues”, Mano is asking us.

Mano, let me tell you some ugly facts of this miserable war of LTTE. The LTTE terrorists blow up bombs in Colombo and suburbs. Civilians die (not harassed, they actually loose their lives). For the past few years LTTE blew up thousands of civilians. The bombs did not dropped from the sky (yes, TAF is not that accurate). The LTTE bombs were planted by the LTTE terrorists who pretend to be Tamil civilians.

It is very difficult to identify such dangerous Terrorists who plant bombs in buses and trains. You must know better as you could not recognize the LTTE bomb expert you employed as a volunteer worker in your office! (At least that is your explanation, who knows that you knew Nadaraja as a LTTE terrorist from the beginning?).

Mono, LTTE terrorists do not spare women and children either. Remember the Fort railway station bomb? Yes, the bomb that wiped out the Baseball team of D S Senanayake College? That bomb was exploded by a pretty woman. Go tell your harassment fairy tales to the parents who lost their kids during that explosion. They will take their broom stick to explain the matters to you!

You and I both know that LTTE is the champion of Child recruitment for the Terrorism. If you want proof, just read the reports by another Tamil human Rights champion Dr Radhika Kumaraswami. Therefore the security forces could not spare the kids too.
Finally Mano, I wish to point out that the drastic times need drastic measures. Surely your western masters will recall how they behaved few decades ago. The US of A has rounded up all their Japanese descended citizens and put them in a camp. All the Jews living in Europe were packed in to Ghettos. Germans living in the UK were put in to the jail. See, they know the civilian plight better than us, Sri Lankans.

Security forces do not conduct this type of exercises for fun. They are responsible for the protection of civilians. They need to find out potential bombers and other nasty characters before they blow up and make damages. That’s why the people are being videoed. Perhaps the security forces have some informants who are ready to recognize the familiar suicide bombers. If the security forces could prevent the death of even ONE single civilian by catching the bombers before they explode their stuff, this whole exercise is worth doing again and again, don’t you think so Mano?

Remember, you are guilty of harboring suicide bombers in your office. If I were you, I won’t open my mouth to utter stupid remarks about search operations. I would help the security forces by providing information about the suicide bombers!

PS: Next time when you go to the US of A, protest to the immigration officer when he tries to take your fingerprint, treating you as a common criminal at the JFK airport!
