(August 08, Ramallah , Sri Lanka Guardian) the Representative of Sri Lanka to the Palestinian National Authority Dr. T. Jayasinghe met the Palestinian Minister of Interior Abdel Razaq Al Yehyah on 05.08.2008 at his office in Ramallah.
The Representative briefed the Minister about the situation of the Sri Lankan citizens stranded in Gaza Strip, and requested him to intervene to help them get out of Gaza and go back to their homeland, Sri Lanka.
The Representative, Dr. T. Jayasinghe briefed the political situation in Sri Lanka, and shared information about the history of LTTE and Sri Lanka with the Minister, as also he solicited advice on the security matter in Sri Lanka, based on the Minister’s experience in being the Commander-in-Chief of the Palestine Liberation Army and Military Advisor to the PLO Executive Committee.
In response, the Minister welcomed Dr. T. Jayasinghe and was glad to meet him, and he promised to help him regarding the matter of the Sri Lankan citizens stranded in Gaza. He discussed some political matters about Sri Lanka, and also his agenda regarding Palestine.
