Research Award for Prof. Christy Weeramantry

(August 29, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) Monash University has honoured Emeritus Professor Christy Weeramantry with a 50th anniversary research award.

These awards were given to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Monash University. The awards acknowledge and celebrate Monash researchers who have had significant success and impact on a broad range of areas over the last 50 years.

Prof. Weeramantry was a professor of law at Monash between 1972 and 1991 and a Judge of he International Court of Justice from 1991 to 2000. He is know internationally for his contributions to peace and intercultural education, human rights, environmental protection and sustainable development, international law and disarmament. - Sri Lanka Guardian
