(September 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) One civilian was killed when an argument between a group of civilians and Navy personnel at a checkpoint in Palliyawatta, Wattala got out of hand, police said.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said that a sailor had shot at one of the civilians killing him instantly.

One of the Navy personnel and a civilian were injured in the commotion. - Sri Lanka Guardian
