Monk abducted from hermitage in Kudumbigala, Ampara

(November 12, Ampara, Sri Lanka Guardian) A Buddhist monk was abducted from a hermitage in the Ampara district by unidentified persons, police sources said.
The monk Ven Sivuralamulle Dhammasiri therea of the Kudumbigala hermitage had been taken away around 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday, they said.
The monk had been provided two Home Guards, but at the time of the abduction they were not present.
The hermitage is known internationally for its meditation programmes conducted there. - Sri Lanka Guardian
