UK Tamil Diaspora and the state coffers

By Helasingha Bandara

(June 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) UK tax payers are beginning to realise that an unacceptable amount of tax collected from them is spent on the migrant Tamils. Sri Lanka Tamils who migrated to the UK and other European countries have managed to hoodwink those governments to grant them political asylum although the majority of those claims were bogus. Most of them found an opportunity to migrate to greener pastures. We are very happy for them and indeed appreciate their talent for deception. The West is full of morons any way!

The same talent is used by many to cheat the benefit system of the welfare state and to evade tax. The government will have a shock if they realise how small a minority of them pay tax at all but how large a potion from the state coffers are drained to mange these people. The recent Tamil protests against what is happening in Sri Lanka alone have cost the UK tax payer millions of pounds, the pot to which many Tamil migrants do not contribute at all. These protests and agitations continue and the ordinary UK citizen has to bear the burden.

Are these protesters UK citizens? If so what right they have to disrupt affairs in a foreign country. If they are Sri Lankans they should go back and launch their protests within Sri Lanka without costing money to the people of the UK. For the opportunistic UK politician the Tamil vote is becoming more important than the welfare of the people of the country. If Tamils continue to drain the state coffers on a matter that has no relevance to the UK tax payer this is going to hurt such politicians at the next elections.

Once a foreigner is naturalised in the UK they are warned that naturalisation can be withdrawn if involved in terrorist activities. The majority of Sri Lanka Tamils in the UK have been involved in supporting terrorism either before or after coming to Britain. Most of them have paid money to LTTE to kill people from all communities in Sri Lanka. Some of them have been directly involved in murdering people, and others have been involved in many other clandestine activities to raise funds for the LTTE which is banned in the UK. How many naturalisations have been withdrawn?

The Tamil Diaspora dreamed of a mono ethnic Tamildom in Sri Lanka. Once that fantasy was shattered, maddened with revengeful vengeance, they are now trying to mislead the West to act against the interests of the people of Sri Lanka. If the claims of genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka is true it should have been known to its closest neighbour Tamil Nadu that holds 65 million Tamils. At the recent general elections those who supported LTTE faced unprecedented defeats. This itself is enough evidence that Tamil Diaspora is lying to the world.
