(June 22, Jaffna, Sri Lanka Guardian) The United National Paty (UNP) today handed over nominations to contest the Jaffna municipal Council elections.A leader businessman involved in sea food exports, A.A.S.Sathiyendran is heading the 29 member list of candidates and includes four females.
UNP MP Jayalath Jayawardena handed over the list at the Jaffna Distrcit Secretary's office.
One of the main worries of the party has been whether they would be allowed to freely campaign for the council elections.
