KP arrested in Thailand, State Media

(August 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP, the man who was named as successor to LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran was arrested in Thailand, state media reported a short while ago.

KP, who was the LTTE's international relations chief till he claimed he was appointed as the LTTE leader after the death of Velupillai Prabhakaran in May, was also the LTTE's main arms procurer.

He was wanted by the Interpol. Two years ago, there were reports that he was arrested in Bangkok. But he reappeared under the name S. Pathmanathan and handled the LTTE's international political arm.
