Multi religious blessings for CNA

(October 02, Matara, Sri Lanka Guardian) Multi religious observances were held in Matara yesterday to invoke blessings on the Common National Alliance (CAN) which will be formed by Opposition political parties.

These observances were held under the patronage of the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe.

Several politicians including the convenor of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Mahajana Wing, Mangala Samaraweera were present for the special Bodhi pooja held at the historic Bo tree in Matara.

They subsequently engaged in Christian religious observances at the Church of Our Lady of Matara.

The group then engaged in Islamic religious observances at the Kade-Weediya Mosque in Matara.

Following the religious observances at the Kade-Weediya mosque, the group of politicians visited the Sri Skandakumara Devala in Matara to invoke blessings on the Common National Alliance.
