Is postal vote rigged?

(January 27, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sources close to the President confirm that systematic violations in the postal voting had taken place. The source said the government calculated up to 250,000 to 300,000 votes needed to overturn the opponent’s victory. Accordingly, a target of 100,000 was set on the postal voting. With the help of the insiders in the Election Commissioners Office, the President’s team was able to send rogue postal votes.

As the media was heavily concentrating on possible vote rigging in the north, the President’s brother Gotabaya’s brothers agents decided to abandon Jaffna and went on disrupt the voters by blasting bombs in several places to prevent voting in the district.

The poll counts of the ballot boxes are expected to show a different lead to the postal voting and in some districts Sarath Fonsenka is said to be leading according to observers.
