Decision to buy another stock of medicine from India

(February 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Health Ministry has decided to purchase yet another stock of medicine and noted that the step was taken to maintain stocks in the country without any shortage. The stock of medicine is being purchased following a request made by a special unit at the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry further noted that under the instructions of the Minister of Health Nimal Siripala De Silva, medicine that will be used extensively over the coming two months would be purchased.

The ministry has decided to purchase these medicines directly from Indian companies.

Within two days of the order being placed the medicine will be transported to the country by air.

The Ministry of Health noted that a team of officials including the Director of the Medical Supplies Unit will visit India in the near future to place the order for the medicine in question.
