Sources close to the United Kingdom government have confirmed that there will be a new Human Rights resolution on Sri Lanka will be presented at the next session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Meanwhile, the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Teplitz has met with Georgette Gagnon, Juan Fernandez, and other staff from OHCHR.
“We appreciate the work of UN Human Rights to support the government and independent Human Rights Commission in Sri Lanka to further reconciliation, human rights, and accountability in Sri Lanka,” Ambassador Teplitz noted while commenting about the meeting.
