Col. Karuna Amman freed

(May 09, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) LTTE renegade commander Col. Karuna Amman, who was sentenced to nine months in a British prison after being charged with having entered the country on false travel documents, has been freed ahead of scheduled date due to his good conduct; our sources in London confirms the Indian based news report.

Former LTTE strongman Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman left the LTTE in 2004 founded the TMVP, but had to flee the country due to factional infighting.

He was arrested by the British authorities in November 2007, and the Isleworth Courts in London sentenced him two months later.
