People should come forward for achieving an honorable lasting solution - Devananda


(June 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Douglas Devananda, Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare, states that it is high time that those who claim themselves to be the leaders of the Tamil people, for a very long period of time, have been rejecting every solution put forward by the leaders of the South for a lasting solution to the problem of political rights of the Tamil people, forwarded their proposals that would prove to be successful for a lasting solution for the political aspirations of the Tamil Speaking People.

The Minister stated so, addressing a large group of people who had come to meet him at his Ministerial office in Jaffna on the last 06th. Speaking further the Hon. Minister said that it had become a practice for some to reject whatever the solutions put forward by the leaders of the South for settlement to the problems of the Tamil Speaking People, whilst yet others had resorted to talk high of themselves, dilly dallying and dragging the problem without making an effort to solve it. Such dark forces needed to be well identified the Minister advised. He further said that these forces were enjoying themselves by subjecting people to continuous sufferings. The Minister urged the crowd gathered to tread the correct path towards an Honourable and lasting solution.

Minister granted funds for housing and self-employment to the impoverished from Sanganai Divisional Secretariat Division on this day of 6th June 2008.
