Are they really banned the Terrorists?

(July 07, Toronto, Sri Lanka Guardian) We have come to learn that organizations supporting the banned terrorist organization called the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and their recently outlawed front organization called the World Tamil Movement (WTM) have been secretly making arrangements to stage the above events under the banner of little known groups such as Tamil Sports and Arts and Cultural organizations in the City of Toronto, to glorify their record of terrorist acts including the over 274 suicide bombings carried out in Sri Lanka, and coerce the members of the Tamil Diaspora to contribute to their ongoing terrorism in pursuit of a mono-ethnic, mono-political , racist Tamil separate in that country. The Black Tiger Day is held in July to remember the first suicide bombing carried out in 1987 and the LTTE cadres belonging to the Black Tiger Suicide Squad who detonated themselves in the form of human bombs, mainly to kill and maim unarmed civilians to create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty within the society.

According to previous ‘Pongu Thamil’ events held elsewhere, it is an occasion where the LTTE displays a sectional map of Sri Lanka showing the region covering the northern and eastern provinces and other parts of Sri Lanka which they are attempting to grab by force of arms, and pictures of the fascist, dictatorial leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, who is wanted by Interpol and the authorities in Sri Lanka and India for numerous crimes against humanity, including the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India, President Ranasinghe Premadasa of Sri Lanka and several leaders from the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities. Although the words ‘Pongu Thamil’ may strictly mean an occasion to take pride in being Tamil, it is in reality an occasion to drum up support for the militaristic aims of the LTTE and the raising of funds for the LTTE’s war chest under the guise of celebrating the Tamil culture.

According to announcements made in the LTTE controlled media, they have indicated that the above events are to be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 (and possibly the following weekend) at locations including the Greek Church at Finch and Bayview, Central Park Grounds in Etobicoke, plus a firm request for all Tamil owned stores to close their businesses by 2.00 p.m. on July 5, with an intimation that an important announcement for compulsory participation of the Diaspora will be made at that time. (Contd./2)

The LTTE front organizations are known for resorting to various schemes to circumvent Canadian Laws, and make it appear that they are engaged in normal community activities, whereas they are using the freedoms and rights available to ordinary citizens to coerce members of the Tamil Canadian community through intimidation and threats to extort funds for illegal purposes aimed at violent upheaval and destabilization of Sri Lanka, a fellow member of the Commonwealth which maintains friendly ties with Canada.

We shall appreciate if you would take every measure to review applications for permits to use your facilities, and ensure that no public space is released to any front, supportive or sympathetic group linked to the LTTE or its main front group called the World Tamil Movement, both of which are banned in Canada.
