British Charity holding secret LTTE meetings in London

by Our Correspondent from London

(July 06, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) London Shiva Temple based in Lewisham in Southeast London is holding regular secret meetings to espouse the cause of the UK proscribed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LLTE). Secret fundraisings and clandestine operational activities of the proscribed organisation are matters discussed at these meeting.

Following the controversial decision of the trustees of the temple to cancel the memorial event organised by prominent Tamil women activist Mrs Rajeswary Balasubramaniam to hold a memorial meeting for slain Maheswary Velautham by the LTTE in May 2007 the trustees had confirmed that the temple will not be used for political meetings.

It is now known that at least two secret meeting of the LTTE had taken place at the temple and the hardcore LTTE supporting trustees headed by Dr Sri Kantha is advocating a boisterous stand that the temple must only hold pro-LTTE meetings. Threats and intimidations are playing a part to undermine the much sober trustees of the temple.

The temple based at 4a Clarendon Rise, Lewisham, London SE13 5ET has become one of the focal points for the LTTE activities in London, causing hurt and harm to those oppose the violent LTTE.
