Deepam TV violates Terrorism law in the UK

London, Sri Lanka Guardian)The LTTE funded Deepam TV which broadcast on the hotbird satellite is being accused of blatantly violating the UK terrorism laws by overtly glorifying the terrorist activities of the proscribed LTTE. The TV station is said to be carrying out a systematic campaign to espouse the cause of the LTTE. News, views and telecasts are overtly promoting the cause of the LTTE.

In the latest development, the Deepam television is giving explicit publicity for the LTTE’s clandestine Pongu Thamil function to be held in Roehampton in South London on 12 July 2008. Sources working at Deepem TV confirmed that arrangements have been made for the Deepam TV to telecast the event lively.

The Deepem TV is widely accused of not accommodating the views of those oppose and is only promoting the violent conduct of the LTTE. Funding for the TV comes from the Malaysian born Tamil owner Vijay Easwaran who is wanted by the law enforcement authorities in India over his criminal financial activities. Vijay Easwaran was arrested by the authorities in Phillipines over his deceptive and corrupt financial dealings and escaped from being deported to Malaysia on the request of the Malasian government.

Vijay Easwaran set up a bogus gold watch marketing network involving many LTTE frontline activists and amazed large amount of wealth at the expense of innocent victims. His bogus business was even extended to India in a big way.
