Jail for £175,000 Sri Lankan credit card cloner



(August 06, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) A Sri Lankan petrol station worker who cloned credit cards in a £175,000 fraud is behind bars. Sri Lankan Abdul Samad Mohamed Raik, 33, used a fake card reader to copy account details of 500 customers at the Jet station in Houghton-on-the-Hill, Leicestershire. He then passed the details to third parties abroad to make ATM withdrawals. Raik, of Leicester, admitting obtaining property by deception and was jailed for two years and nine months at Leicester Crown Court.
