(August 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Following the last incident when Sirasa staff were attacked in the series of continuous and unabated violence , hooliganism and harassment , unleashed allegedly by Minister Mervyn Silva and his gang on innocent and law abiding citizens ., diverse opinions and views have been expressed by the public and Ministers of his own Cabinet.

Minister Maithripala Sirisena admitted by implication that Mervyn his colleague is above the law, when he wished that God alone must punish him.
The other colleague, the Media Minister Yapa said he was absolutely ashamed of Mervyn’s conduct - he too stops there apparently paralyzed, unable to take action beyond that statement
In the meanwhile the Police which failed to take any action in the numerous similar earlier episodes has also said that they are going to record Mervyn‘s statement.
It is reported that President too has held out warnings to him, though belated.
One fact however stands out in the midst of all these sudden outburst of feelings and concern of the Govt. for the general public and their safety from Mervyn; whoever may be , that Dr,.Frankeinstein who created the monster has to be warned , one day the monster sure is going to devour the creator – sooner the better for the innocent citizens !
