(April 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The government is to hold local government elections in the North as soon as possible.
“Elections will be held within the next two months,” said Janaka Bandara Tennekoon. Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils.
It was also revealed that polls will be held for the Jaffna Minicipal Council as well as 20 other local government bodies.-Sri Lanka Guardian
