"UNP blasts Govt.’s colossal expenditure –Rs. 928,000 per month by every Ministry "

(June 15, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Addressing a news conference , UNP M.P.Range Bandara castigated the Government on the colossal expenditures incurred by the Ministries. Every Ministry spends a huge sum of Rs. 928,000 per month for the upkeep of the Minister and its staff , he added.

It is high time the Govt. thought of doing something for the benefit of the people than being obsessed with how it could further increase its Cabinet of Ministers and its enjoyment at taxpayers’ expense. Even after the war has ended , the Govt. is only trying to add more idlers to its Cabinet of Ministers and perpetuate its power craze , he noted. The Ministers are talking big of sacrifices and asking the people to think in terms of what they can give to the country , instead the people must ask from the Ministers what boot will suit these Ministers and boot them out , he asserted.

He must be joking when he suggest the benefit to the people. These guys sold state assets to their supports for a song. They all made money by dragging the war at the expense of poor soldiers and Sri Lankan citizens. We are not even month away after eradicating the terrorists, and how can a sensible government open all the doors after 30 years of betrayal. The UNP should shut up and help the government to erase the remaining culprits from Sri Lankan soil. Perhaps Ranga must be feeling the pinch of not having LTTE funds. If you really do think of these people in the UNP are more dangerous than the LTTE itself. The government must ensure the safety of the Tamil people by not allowing those LTTE elements to re-surface again.
