(July 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The People's Republic of China and Sri Lanka enjoy abiding friendship and respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Government of Sri Lanka considers Xinjiang as an inseparable part of the People's Republic of China and that the situation there is an internal affair of the People's Republic of China.
While being concerned about the recent riots in Xinjiang in northwest China, the Government of Sri Lanka is confident that efforts being taken by Chinese authorities will soon restore normalcy in the region. -Sri Lanka Guardian
