Minister and MP play havoc, Parliament suspended twice

(October 20, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Parliament was suspended twice this morning due to the commotion caused after UNP Puttalam district MP Range Bandara displayed a poster in front of his table relating to the recent burning down of his office.
The poster stating ‘Sri Lanka Democracy at work’ also contained a photograph of the burnt office of the MP.

The Speaker ordered that the poster be removed after the first suspension but MP Bandara failed to do this causing government members to shout in protest saying the UNP MP was violating the conventions of the House.

Later Minister Mervyn Silva walked into the House wearing a white cloth around his body saying that if the UNP MPs can violate the House conventions so can the government MPs.
