From Ranaviruvo to a National threat

(placed at the Fourth Floor of CID)

By Citizen Somapala

(February 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Yesterday’s Ranaviruvo ( War heros) are now been declared as a threat to national security. The very top brass of the army whose victory was celebrated in streets with Kiribah ( Milk rice) are now been arrested or forcibly retired from the arm forces as they are been declared by the government as a grave threat to national security. National television which then led the chorus of praise for them and sang song of eternal debt to their bravery and sacrifice, is now carrying out a vicious propaganda against them as threat to the nation. Virayas (heros) are now been treated as pariahs( outcasts).

Raviruvos were considered the Sinhala Buddhism’s greatest achievement. It has taken many decades of ideological movements and efforts build their image. It has taken not more than six months to have it all dumped into laughing stock of history.

Raja pakse now means loyalty to a family, and not loyalty to the nation. The ultimate achieve of Sinhala Buddhism is this family. Now Ranavirovo has their place in the jail or even in a worse place .

As for now some of them are kept at the fourth floor of the CID. Even their wives are allowed to see them only for one or two minutes. Even that is possible only after spending three to four hours waiting and listening to all kinds of insults.
