Former Minister of foreign affairs revealed the art of making force disappearances

(October 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) At a meeting held in Colombo on 27 October, the Sri Lankan Day of Commemoration of Forced Disappearances, former minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera, said, now there is new way of making  people disappear. After arrest and assassination, the stomach content is removed and the body is then flown in a helicopter and dumped in the sea. This new technique has been developed, due to the body of the journalist Richard Soyza, was discovered in a sea shore in Colombo. It is believed that after assassination his body was flown in a helicopter and dumped in the sea. The new method of removing stomach content is done, in order to ensure that the body will not float back to the surface.
