Two Claymore Mines and hand grenades Founded in Guest House at Wellawatta

Based on civilian information to police and Army personal were found two claymore mines, three hand grenades and a detonator from a lodge in the Colombo suburb of Wellawatta on Wednesday afternoon at around 3pm, according to police reports.

The claymore mines each weighing 9kg and 5kg were uncovered inside a guest house (Ideal Guest Inn) in "Sinasaba Road", opposite the Wellawatta "Savoy Cinema."

"A maid walked into one of the rooms occupied by Tamil guests and found the items laid out on the bed," police officials described the events.

The maid had told the manager of the lodge who subsequently informed the police, according to reports.

According to one of cyber mouths uploading by the team of LTTE intelligence head Pottu Amman, “the lodge has been identified as Ideal Guest Inn which is popular with Tamil guests from the North and East of the island.” Details about the occupants of the room have not been revealed to the public.

Meanwhile, five suspected LTTE members of Hill Country origin were arrested by the Sri Lankan police on Tuesday near the parliament building for having spent the night in open space.
