The LTTE satellite radio service International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) operating from South London is blatantly violating the UK Terrorism Act which proscribed the activities of the terror outfit Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) operating in Sri Lanka.

IBC was broadcasting a special programme commemorating its dead cadre LT Col Thileepan from the proscribed LTTE outfits capital Kilinochchi on 17 September 2007. The commentator of the IBC was announcing the exclusivity of their coverage of the remembrance event throughout the broadcast.

The satellite broadcast was also beamed through various LTTE front radio stations in Australia and Canada.

In a separate development LTTE activists held memorial celebrations for Thileepan in North London on 16 September 2007. The LTTE front website uktamilnews.com run by Sockalingam Karunalingam of the LTTE gave the necessary publicity for the event.

Persons attending the event state the LTTE activists were carrying out security checks at the entrance and ensured anti-LTTE elements were prevented from entering the venue.

UK Terrorism Act prohibits glorifying terrorism of proscribed outfits in the UK. The LTTE activists and its front organisations are carrying out their activities without any fear of the Terrorism Act despite the authorities arresting its leading operatives recently.
