Asian Tribune editors meeting with the President revisited

"Bootlicking situation of Asian Tribune"

(November, 11, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The news published in the independent web media in July 2007 about the controversial and secret meeting of the President of Sri Lanka and the Asian Tribune owner/editor Kanapathipillai Thambirajah Rajasingam based in Hallstvakik, Sweden is published below. Since the meeting K T Rajasingam’s authority to manipulate events in Sri Lanka has made Sri Lanka exposed to bad governance and its inability to respect international standards on dealing with diplomatic missions. On this occasion the British government has been hoodwinked for petty parochial gains of the government and the greedy Asian Tribune editor.

This single most incident must be seen as a lesson for the international community and they must bear upon the Sri Lanka government to follow acceptable standards in governance and respect for international protocols.

The Asian Tribune editor has a history of nefarious dealings starting from his engagement in a Co-operative society in Sri Lanka. He migrated from Sri Lanka to Thailand and from there he has moved to Sweden. His record on human trafficking, blackmailing and nefarious dealing have caused so much harm to many people for far too long.

He has reached the peak in his deceptive and devious career by now becoming party to an appalling and devious agreement with the government of President Mahinda Rajapakse.

Whilst the government of Sri Lanka is brought under greater international scrutiny, there is an urgent need for the Swedish authorities to investigate K T Rajasingam as his nefarious and criminal activities are causing serious harm to civil society.

Asian Tribune has stuck a deal with the government

(July,30, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Sweden based Asian Tribune editor K T Rajasingam is said have met the President of Sri Lanka in Geneva last month. The president Mahinda Rajapakse attended the International Labour Organisation conference held on June 15, 2007 in Geneva and the Asian Tribune editor was one of the special guests invited to meet the president.

The 75 years old e-media editor was given first class all inclusive accommodation in the five-star Intercontinental Hotel which included exclusive drinks and massage service. The room provided was the top floor Presidential suite close to the room occupied by the President.

Sources in Geneva say Sri Lankan government took care of the entire costs of travel and stay of the editor. K T Rajasingam flew from Stockholm and landed in Geneva on June 14th evening. He stayed in the five star hotel until the 16th at the expense of the Sri Lankan government.

An agreement was said to have been reached with K T Rajasingam to provide exclusive service to the ruling Sri Lanka Freedom Party of which Mahinda Rajapakse is the leader. Undisclosed sum is said to have been agreed for the services of the editor.

Since return from Geneva, the Asian Tribune is carrying out exclusive campaign against the opposition United National Party and its leader Ranil Wickramasinghe. Special feature articles reflecting creative thinking of the editor and the other contributors are appearing regularly to sling mud on the opposition party.

The money craving Asian Tribune has become a spin e-newspaper capable of writing anything and everything for anybody provided their services are backed by adequate finances. Many charges of money laundering and underhand dealings against Asian Tribune editor K T Rajasingam are remaining unchallenged by the editor.
